Wurtemberg K Class Locomotive by Atlas Editions

This model represents the only twelve-coupled steam locomotives ever built in Germany, designed to haul heavy freight trains on the challenging gradients of the Württemberg railway network. Introduced in 1917, the Württemberg K Class featured a 2-12-0 wheel arrangement, a configuration that allowed for a limited axle load of 16 tonnes, enabling the locomotives to operate on tracks with lower weight-bearing capacities. These powerful locomotives were built by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen and were unique in their design and operational capabilities. the model showcases the locomotive's distinctive features, including its long boiler and large driving wheels. It is mounted on a wooden display plinth with track, making it an ideal piece for collectors and railway enthusiasts.
