A model’s scale shows how its size compares to the real thing - for example, 1:18 scale means the model is 18 times smaller than the real vehicle.

The lower the second number, the larger the model. For example, a 1:18 scale model would be larger than a 1:32 scale model.

• 1:18 Scale - Large and highly detailed, around 10 to 12 inches long for a typical car.

• 1:24 Scale - Slightly smaller, ideal for collectors who want detail without taking up too much space.

• 1:32 Scale - Popular for farm models, military vehicles and historic cars.

• 1:43 Scale - A traditional collector’s size, especially for classic and modern cars.

• 1:50 Scale - Frequently used for construction vehicles, trucks and heavy machinery.

• 1:64 Scale - Small and highly collectible, similar in size to Matchbox or Hot Wheels.

• 1:72 Scale - Often used for military models, aircraft and small vehicle collections.

• 1:76 Scale - Perfect for pairing with 00 gauge model railways (common in the UK).

• 1:87 Scale - Matches HO gauge railways (popular internationally, especially in Europe and the USA).

• 1:100 Scale - Very small models, great for large dioramas, architecture and aircraft displays.

Scales and Railway Gauges:

If you're matching vehicles to model railways:

• 1:76 - Scale fits with 00 gauge railways (standard in the UK).

• 1:87 - Scale fits with HO gauge railways (popular worldwide).
