Queen Elizabeth I Plaster Bust 13cm
The daughter of Henry VIII, and sometimes known as The Virgin Queen, Gloriana, or Good Queen Bess, Elizabeth's reign is celebrated as the golden age for England. This bust is based on illustrations and portraits. Around the base are objects depicting events and places from Elizabeth I's reign including the Spanish Armada, musical instruments from court, the Globe Theatre, the crown and orb and Sir Walter Raleigh. The etch around the base reads 'I have already joined myself in marriage to a husband, namely the kingdom of England'
