Corgi VA14600 Volkswagen Type 2 Bay Window Marino Yellow and Pastel White

Launched in 1950 the original VW Type 2 sold far better than VW had envisaged. They therefore launched the second generation Type 2 in late 1967. This new vehicle was larger, more powerful, more comfortable and more versatile, but retained the the charm of the original and its air-cooled rear-engine layout. Nicknamed the 'Bay Window' because of its large wraparound windscreen. This example is one of the last 'late Bays' produced in Germany and was first registered in May 1979 and immediately sent to Devon Conversions to be turned into a camper.
